In the Footsteps of the Highland Drovers
For Venture Trust and Historic Environment Scotland I facilitated two series of video and photography trainings for young carers in Glasgow.
After the trainings, the groups went off on a highland adventure, hiking along parts of the Drover’s Routes and undertaking lots of challenges, like abseiling from an old railway bridge or surviving midge attacks in the wilderness. They also learned about the life of the Drovers, stayed in an original longhouse and visited Stirling Castle.
After their trips, we gathered again to view the photographs and footage and decided what should be in the final films.
I edited the two films with the groups’ wishes in mind and we celebrated their successful participation with a film screening at GMAC in Glasgow.
You can see one of the films here.
