The People’s Story Project – Falkirk

In September 2019 I set up the People’s Story Project in Falkirk District with support from Scottish Book Trust and the local library services of Falkirk Community Trust. As the Digital Storyteller in Residence I facilitated over 100 workshops in various community groups and towns in the district. I spoke to many people and helped them on their first adventures using an iPad or recording their voices and most of all capturing their intriguing stories of a once vibrant economic stronghold on the Forth and Clyde Canal. It was an honour to listen and learn about the rich cultural and industrial heritage and people’s journeys and struggles! The 10-month residency concluded with 2 fantastic celebration screenings, held at Falkirk Town Hall and at the wonderful Hippodrome Cinema in Bo’ness.
