Living Cultures Indigenous Fellowship

As part of my online training facilitations which started with the first lockdown in 2020, I have taken on the lead facilitator role for the first instalment of the Living Cultures Indigenous Fellowship programme. With support from InsightShare, I have designed and implemented an 8 month training programme for 6 Indigenous youth hubs in 4 African countries. The project kicked off in February 2021 and we have successfully completed three phases of training.

Weekly homework tasks combined with Zoom calls gave the groups ample of practice to improve their filming and storytelling skills. The participants completed several short films about their culture and climate change with my support. They also facilitated filmmaking sessions and local community screenings. Channel 4 News screened a 10-minute edit of their submitted footage at the start of COP26 Glasgow on prime time television.
